Just woke up as the bus was pulling into DC. I love coming here. Such a great sense of history, and a general cool feeling about the town. My wife and I have a few friends here in town as well, and it’s always nice to get to see them.
Isle of Palms was as always, a blast, and quite an interesting time this go round. My wife and I flew out of NOLA at 6 am, met the bus in Atlanta and drove to IOP. The others in the band were flying later and at some point, all their flights got canceled and/or delayed. So at some point, once we realized that they wouldn’t be arriving til after 3 am, the show was canceled, and the opener, the awesome Leslie, were given the headlining spot. Our boy Mark Bryan from Hootie was coming down to play with the Mouth, so he and I ended up doing a short acoustic set opening for Leslie. That was a blast. Mark is a great musician, and it was a blast to play acoustic with him.

Also we got up with Leslie and played a great cover of “Squeezebox” to close out the night. Alot of fun at the end of it all, especially considering the crazyness of the flights and all.
The next night was a really good show we all felt. Was great to be playing again after a month off. Windjammer crowds are always great. Such a good energy in there.
Oh well, time to run, we’re off to explore the nation’s capital. Be good, have a good NYE, be safe, don’t drink and drive. Peace out!
